I selected following options for infopass appointment.
You need Service on a case that has already been filed -->Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.
And I carried Receipts for 485,765 and 131 for myself and my wife (of course photo ID).

CPO today. Case at local office. Had 1 interview where all documents for status and taxes were checked for the past 12 years. Never had a problem or gap in status and IO was surprised why the case came to local office. I was atleast happy that the interview is the worst thing that can happen and I am done through that.
After 3 infopass appts, 2 SRs in all have the CPO in hand.

Excluding dependents is like making the Cap 2.5 times, when I say least controversial I intend to that everybody in the legal immigrant community will support it. If the cap becomes 300K Per annum, Iam sure everybody by which I mean even if somebody has filed for his / her labor today will get approved within 2 years (Equivalent to 600K visa numbers). Of course this will require a change of law but nobody EB1, EB2, EB3, ROW, India / China would oppose this as everybody's process gets speeded up. There is no other way to clear the backlog in its entirety and ensure that it does not happen again like this solution of excluding dependents.

Guys inorder for DOS or DHS or USCIS to get the message they will FIRST and FOREMOST have to understand WHO Gandhi is. For that we will have to attach a few pages of documentation about Mahatma Gandhi. By the time the message gets to the correct person's hands AND he/she understands the true meaning of the message, the person will think we insulted them, coz the the flowers will be dead and dried up and STINKY.

Getting really worried now! What happened to our packages? I asked my lawyer and he said all the applications filed together with mine have received receipts except mine? Is that normal? Did you guys ask your lawyer? Did the applications filed together with yours all get receipts?

I was working on DC but so far just received 30 votes..
Like I said I will talk to core members if only we have 1000 members who wants to do it in DC on July 14th.. So many members are online but they don't even want to take a poll.. I don't know what to expect from members..

That is a good start. We had around 14 people on 07/07 demonstration but it was fun. Thirty is double that. I will keep you posted on what strategy we are following in Bay area. I will also request the Chinese member to post about the local event in DC once we finalize the logistics today evening.

Well...I came in 2000 as a student...infact I had more stress in US ...never worked so hard..worrying about everything ...so i would put that I had a good time in india only...as I never imagined that I will be doing hi-tech bonded slavery..play to your mgr/employer's whims ...
Going to india atleast every 2 years, I see lot of potential and oppurtunities for business...tatas, mittal, infosys are buying companies in US so money is in asia now so you see all US companies flocking to tap Asian mkt. Having said this, I think I am looking back to go to india after couple more years of stay.
Cheer up as wherever you are, you make your surrounding good....
At the end, all bogs down to how happy you are !..:cool:

I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

Got email from my lawyer that my Receipt Notices were already received by his office.
My application for I-140/485/EAD was sent on July 30 and received on July 31. I checked it online and it says "On September 6, we received your....".
I filed in NSC and I received LIN numbers.
I will support the rally; it is just I really cannot come due to personal reasons. I already called some of my friends and some are joining the rally. I also sent some e-mail to the office of the Governor of California, to our congressman, and Senator.
I am sending some mails to the media.

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. Each and every single lawmaker in this country understand immigration to the extent that you may not even start to guess...People who oppose us have been putting their restrictive bills again and again so they are going to continue doing that despite of us do something or sleep, do you think Numbersusa wait for us to do something, their anti.... mill will keep churning.
Sometimes you have to see the other perspective rather than just defending a point of view.
Now is not a good time for immigrants. The EB5 investor visa, which is a no brainer in this economy has been kicked on like a can for 6 mths at a time, congressmen that are pro- immigration are laying low. Anti-immigrant forces are gearing up for a big assault in coming weeks, the American public is unsympathetic given their own issues. Against this backdrop why would we launch such an effort. Basically now is the time to play Defense not Offense. Do all you can to hang on to your job, keep your savings liquid. Wait for any opportunities to arise, and wait for the storm to pass.
After the great depression, this country virtually shut down immigration for the next few decades. Likewise they slowed it down in the early 80s and again in the early 90s. Right about now, no change is a good thing IMHO, as bad as that sounds, as change will not be in your favor.

Dear EB3 folks, please don't get discouraged by the Sept visa bulletin, let's keep our focus contacting congressmen/women, USCIS and DOS to push on a fair policy, of using the visa spillover against cases with older priority dates. Also for all other folks, who don't support this, we are just trying our best to get a push somehow to stay along with others in the queue, moving forward, instead of quietly watching, so please do not discourage. If you don't support or have a better solution, please start your own forum for further discussion instead of discouraging the folks in this forum.
