thanks a lot kshitijnt.... my gc has been filed about 5 months back. At that point I wasn't planning to shift to PF otherwise i wudn't have made them file it. ya, as u said i shud have started with PF directy. Just because my company filed for h1b, i didn't wanted to ditch theem. Now I realised that its foolish in this fied to be considerate for someone especially desi employers.
Anyways will try ur way and see how it goes.

Look man, I don't know who you are and what's your story. But I do know this. Giving a false impression to others and misleading others on this forum and on any other forum is not going to help. You seem to project that only you care for the issue of country-limits. I think the better description is, you only care for the removal of country limits till the day you get your green card. You do NOT want to remove country limits on EB beyond the date you receive the approval of your application. Giving a false impression to a few on this forum that temporarily removal of country limits will be easier than permanent removal of country limits is just WRONG.
After IV admin posted for the media interview few days back, I sent them an email expressing my willingness to speak with the press. I spoke with Vivek Wadhwa at length last week about this issue. Vivek Wadhwa article in Washington Post covers the issue of country limits where as his previous articles have not covered this issue.

I also called a member of IV core yesterday evening and they told me that they have told you not to do whatever that you are doing. I was told that you are hurting their effort and you have been told this pretty clearly. But you continue with this senseless and direction less ranting and you continue to cause damage to the effort for the removal of country-limits.
Its disgusting that rather than working with others to fix this complicated and difficult issue, you continue to beat your own drum, without actually doing anything, but at the same time hurting the issue you claim you care for. And on top of that you want to remove the country limits only until you get your green card. Is that rationale to you in any which way?????? No. Is your action selfish????? YES.

Good point, has anybody asked this to any lawyer ? Can we challenge this in court ? This is the definition of judiciary review...If we can proove the country cap to be unconstitutional..
Judicial Review is when the Supreme Court reviews an act of Congress to see if it is Constitutional.
Judicial Review is the power of the Supreme Court to declare a law unconstitutuion (violation against the laws of the Constitutuion).

Where we can have people portraying roles of USCIS Director, Secrtary of State, Immigrants calling franctically to India to get their documents, parents running around to get doucments, the start of rumor, the employees of uscis working on sunday to adjudicate the cases, then the flip flop of DOS. etc. Then we can put this on youtube and will attract publicity.

Today message changed to ( the dates shows yesterday)
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 7, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If US employer agrees to retain you as a consultant working from India. Can one continue to work for US employer on Indian salary as a consultant employed by Indian consulting firm? As a consultant we can come for a 3 month visit on B1/B2 and continue family life in India. Do you see any issues here?

Does anyone, who has PD getting current (under EB2- I/C) during Aug/Sept. got their EAD Renewed, and cards received. ?? If so, what's your EAD-Renewal Appln Date / RD and Cards Received Date.
I suspect, USCIS is NOT issuing EAD Renewals, to probable Current PD holders, any more. :D hopefully. This is a good Sign, if true. Does anybody agree with me.. Let's Party out. :)

The fact is that the biggest immediate issue facing the majority of people is Not a green card, it is that they cannot even file for it. Wasn't retrogression the whole reason why people joined IV? GC processing was always slow, and that was a big problem. But it only got to be a critical problem when people realized they could not change jobs and their spouses could not work due to the retrogression.
Let us focus on the low hanging fruits first.
....
a) Filing for stage 3 regardless of PD
b) Relief for people in the LC mess
c) Fingerprinting one person just Once (i mean fingerprints dont change do they?)
... does it make sense to go for a Comprehensive Permanent solution or does it make sense to ask for smaller tid-bits and treat the other costs we incur as "costs of doing business"? ... Let us seriously think about this solution.

USCIS are doing internal transfer from more than a year(140 & 485). They are processing 140 and 485 at both the centers and requesting the application at NE only. It seems now you noticed.
well they have started allowing for direct filing to each of these centers from July 30th. It's going to be another pre-PERM situation when place like nevada used to process labor in 3 months whereas NY was taking 2 years.

Everybody has been waiting for his/her green card and congratulations to all those who has got their GC. On the other hand it is really unfair and to some extent unethical on the part of USICS not follow a fair system.
There are several people in 2004, 2005 who have been paitently waiting for their turn only to see that people behind them getting approved.
Several of us have writtent to Ombudsman, Director but of no avail.
Not sure what else can be done? Any Idea? Do we have any liaison with AILA who can take up this matter.
I can understand the frustration here. The problem is, USCIS has been doing this for several years and everyone knows this.
Even Ombudsman mention this in his report! So I dont think we can write much of letters about this...it is a well known and acknowledged fact!
Now what is the solution? The problem is USCIS claims that they do not have enough resouces to implement FIFO. Or may be they do not have a system to utilize available resources to do so.
This is not likely to change in next couple of months. So with all due respect, everyone with current PD but still waiting for GC will just have to wait and hope for the best. I wish my good luck to all. The best we can expect from USCIS at this point is to use all the visa numbers and not to waste any.
On a long run, this does need to change. It will take several months or years to change and it is worthwhile to attempt our efforts in that direction. Or suggest something in that line to include in upcoming CIR next year.
