Do u think UScis knows when we mailed in the application...can we just say that we r waiting for 90 days and talk to them. Any ideas!

I and my wife transfer notice by mail. I have no idea, why I received them.
I read on the forums where people successfully called USCIS and got their Receipt Number with their name and DOB. However, they mentioned USCIS that they were waiting for more than 90 days to get level 2 IO support.

Thanks for your reply. Lawyer sent 140 to Texas. But, it was transfered to NSC and got a receipt from NSC for 140. Do you think it is transferred to CSC not toTSC?

I understand that you want to use experience before PD. However, there is no much gain and makes it more complex.
For example, the person who does not start PD for 5 years on work can get only 6 months earlier preference.
My thoughts.
I gave more points to PD month than experience month.
If you think its more complexes then I will go with PD only.
New PD means either you are new in US or you dint applied or you got laid off. What ever is the reason of new PD, you or your luck are involved so only you should be responsible. My previous PD was Jul, 2003 with EB2 but INC canceled my company’s LC in group because my company didn’t apply from co-operate office and there was no one in office during INC raid. Later my company applied LC from co-operate office and I got new PD. Even though It would be unfair to talk about experience because some how my or me are involved here.
So let’s keep only PD as only preference.

Thanks Zooom, for starting this thread. Problem is not only with the desi companies! If you work for the so called MNC, still you will be exploited. At least if you convince your desi employer that you will work for them for X number of years, they will be ready to help you. Sometimes they will go beyond the legal limits if the get return from you. Not true with MNCs. In the name of abiding the law, the will not help you. I have seen many people work MNCs, just at the verge of getting the GC, they got laid off! No need for me to tell what happened to his GC.
So in my opinion the best way to get your GC is go thru the blood suckers! That is the price you have to pay to become citizen of this "Land of Opportunity".

In my case, i do not have a valid H-1B visa stamp. I recently visited India and used Advance Parole. Questions related to this
1) do i need to surrender my PAROLE I-94 before departing USA?
2) does canada immigration officer ask me why i have applied for canada gc while my USA gc is in process?:confused:

USCIS will consolidate FPs for 485 and EADs. So if we don't receive biometrics for 485, hopefully we will get one for EAD renewal which will also serve the purpose for 485 processing.
Note: This only applies to concurrent filers of 485 and EAD.

(I had posted a similar note a couple of weeks ago. I apologize for doing so again, but I feel this needs to be said).
We legal immigrants need to make our voices heard because 99% of the US Citizens do not know our (sad) story. Here are some highlights (nothing new to the users of this site):
1. Most of us are highly educated.
2. .. work hard (because otherwise why would our employers sponsor us).
3. .. follow all the laws and pursue legal immigration.
4. .. are deeply invested in this country - so many of us own houses, mutual funds, etc. that are investments in the Economy.
5. .. contribute to the society in a variety of ways including: paying taxes, inventing so much of the new technologies (especially in the computer industry).
It wouldn't be too hard to get statistics on how much employment-based immigrants contribute to the economy - number of companies started by former immigrations, number of patents filed, US citizens employed by such companies, correlation of the growth of the Computer Industry with Employment based Immigration. I believe a very strong case can be made in our favor.
And all we ask for is a fair shot at permanent residence in this country. Not only do we not get that, the process is opaque and we have NO idea how long it may take for us to navigate each one of the many stages of this process. The process is completely unbounded and we have no way to planning our lives.
I bet if the US Citizens at large find out what we go through day-to-day they would be appalled. One way to do so is to peacefully protest in public - perhaps outside the USCIS offices. It is probably a dumb idea, but I wanted to bring it up - let us not sell our selves short, there are a lot of us and if we combine our voices it would be loud enough to get to the right ears. I am sure we will see action.

It sounds like IV should assign PD to people who join and accordingly allow them to comment.......just like USCIS allot GC based on PD.....:)
Why not if 'Who did not even know about IV till Apr 2007 are CONTRIBUTING here'.

All the posts above are good coping measures, and some are used to actually deal with depressive symptoms. However they have missed the MOST important one! You used the term clinical depression. Please if you truly feel that way seek help, and seek it now, talk to your doctor or to a councilor. Though I won't go into details, I am speaking from personal experience. Sometimes things build up so much that we slip into such a state where we go beyond sadness and frustration and move to true depression.
From a site on depression: Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis.
Sometimes a stressful life event triggers depression. Other times depression seems to occur spontaneously with no identifiable specific cause. Depression is much more than grieving or a bout of the blues.
Depression, true clinical depression, is nothing you can cure with a trip to somewhere else, or having people point out to you how much better you are off than this person or that one. I am linking one of many sites that are out there, please read it and if you really do have the symptoms do what it suggests. Or Google "Clinical Depression" (beware of sites trying to sell drugs, usually easy to tell as they tend to recommend their drug as the only solutions.):

My current employer is not willing to provide copy of I-140. I got EAD in 2nd week of October 2007. Can I change job using AC21 without copy of I-140 from current employer. What are the documents I need to change job using AC 21? Thanks in advance for your replies
Who filed your AOS? Your I-485 filing has to include an approved copy of I-140 and LC. Since I-485 is your filing, you can ask the attorney to give you a full copy of the filing (including I-140 and LC).

whats funny in that. As you said it is just a prediction...
The guy Affirmatively said "It will be June 2002" and gave me red because the dates i gave were behind , Ithought it was funny because we are all playing the prediction game.....
I am thinking if I should i start a game to predict the dates, and who ever gets closest date will get few greens..... ;)
