There is no doubt about NRIs are the prime reason for the real estate boom in India. It is tottally unbelivable that 2 bedroom flat in a normal second class town has gone to up to 40 lakes. Decent independent houses are in terms of crores in small cites. Two factors. One is foreign money and second in black money from local dadas/politicians. Also demand vs supply. The availble land is small and demand for that land is too high due to these two gropus.
I visited one of my NRI friends house in India, where he is not going to live as he is a US citizen. His parents already won two houses and they bought another house as a investment. This house in a recent development area in a small town where there is no high tech employment is avialable; In my feeling it may not worth 5 lakes; they were selling at 45 lakes. Even if anyone ready to pay 45 lakes there is no unit is avialable; everything was sold to NRIs. No resident won the houses in that area. All the dads and mos are baby sitting the houses. Renting alos not that easy. It is tottally unbelivable. I wonder why all the NRIs buying house in India and increisng the house price? The guys working here (or any part of the world) and not going to live in India, why government should allow to buy the house and increse the price? Everyone tries to do real estate bussiness there. That is the main reason for price increase.
Is is sad. All these NRIs are going to learn a very valuable lesson. Speculation is not a good strategy for investing. A lot learned that in the past few months here in USA. In a year we will be seeing the full blown post bubble correction in India. If one can rent an apartment for 15,000 why would one buy it for 50 lakhs. The interest alone on 50 lakhs is 50,000 every month. It is like buy and rent it and loose money. Instead why don't they deposit in a bank and get 50,000 every month:confused:

I don't think we can do 'anything' about EB3 I. We are 100% at the mercy of USA (politicians, USCIS, DOS or whoever).
We can write letters, emails, fax, contribute to IV but nothing is gonna help. This is the fact!
We are not going to get our GC when we need it but only when they give it. And, it is not going to happen anytime sooner.
The options that we have in front of us (which would work for sure):
1. Live with this. Don't come to any forum, don't think about VISA bulletin. Take your Gc when it comes to your doorstep. May be by then, we may not need it. We may be tired of being on the same job and GC may not bring any motivation to our career.
2. Move over to EB2 - If possible, take all the pains of changing job, place of living, unpredictability in PERM queue and I140 queue and move over to EB2. But you never know. One of our Indian brothers might have just won a lawsuit to stop us from moving over!! In that sense, EB3 I is worst than illegals. Least wanted legals in the USA!!
3. Get out of this country - Give up the American dream and come to reality and start a new dream. May be Canadian dream or Australian dream...
We are stuck. And, nobody is going to help us. This is hard fact. Believe it.
Wearing my optimist hat, the only thing I can think of is, whether IV supports it or not (reason I say this is - once we talk about this -the core is going to refer to poor 'high five' collection or 'low number of people calling congressmen' etc. Not blaming them. They have their own issues. For us, the problems are bigger. IV core will not do anything for EB3 I exclusive) some 50-100 EB3 I applicants should go to DC and meet high officials, CHC folks and every department that is influential to EB immigrant VISA and make them understand our plight. No guarantee that this would work. But, we will get a first hand response that may help atleast help us to chose from one of 3 options listed above.
The only practical solution, IMHO, is to move over to EB-2. Like they say, If you can't beat them, join them.

I contributed $100 by Paypal and sent out an eamil to about 15 of my friends who are in the same boat as I am. My email mentioned everything IV is trying to achieve and encouraged them to contribute too. I hope atleast a few of them will come forward.
If all of us contributing can email our friends and encourage them to do the same - that might help contributions pour in faster.

Managed to get a seat in 07-2007 bus
Still sleeping in the bus. Don't know when I reach the destination.
Even if life ends before the journey completes, the corpse will continue the travel until it gets the GC.

I had started a healthcare thread previously and it got poor response. Eventually we created an iv-physicians chapter to track our issues and work with the core team on the overall goals of ending retrogression.
There are a number of efforts on to help Schedule A applicants, some of these are parts of more comprehensive efforts like Cornyn's recent amendment.
I suggest you organize the Schedule A folks into a group. IV is very happy to work with any group that takes responsibility for their own needs.
See this blogspot we are creating to increase awareness of physician shortages and problems: http://iv-physicians.blogspot.com/
If you do form a group, try to expand it by bringing members in from outside iv as well- this would also expand iv's membership base.
I will be happy to help you with anything you need based on our experience with iv-physicians so far.

No good news for me. I am EB3-I.
By the way, if the PD is current for those who have already applied for I-485, does it mean they are guaranteed to get their GCs processed? What if EB2-I becomes U in September? Just wanted to know the importance of a PD becoming current for folks who have already applied for 485.

My friend EB2 is all ONE category. Please see the OR in that sentence.

Its sad but its going to apply for all EB2 applicants.
