Thanks for posting this link - it is very useful.
I had not seen an update from USCIS yet that explained clearly the severity of the backlog. Next time we do an interview/radio show etc., it may be a good idea to point to this press release by the USCIS. We often hear that some congressmen are not convinced that it takes more than 7 years to get a GC. Next time we do a letter campaign or meet with a congressmen, let us print this out and take it with us.

been in pittsburgh for 8 yrs.license renewal no problem at pittsburgh downtown office.
need letter from employer and h1,thats it.
go to a different office or talk to the suprevisor.

Once your Priority date of a category is current and namechecks are cleared, it is First in first out within the country quota. At that time, earlier priority dates do not matter at all. What matters is how early you applied for your I485 (date the application was physically received by the center, and not the date a notice was sent).

Can a senior member kindly address these questions posted for the last couple days. A quick response will be highly appreciated.
My case is very similar to yours. I had applied my I-140 in Oct 2006. Got an RFE for Ability to Pay which was responded to in Feb 2006. LUD changed twice in Feb and there was no progress. I upgraded to premium processing in June but there was no progress in my case even after 15 days past. Recently I got to know thru my lawyer that my case has been moved to the TSC Review Department for a background check and a decision is pending. I have taken an INFOPASS appointment to meet with an immigration officer to follow up about my case on Friday.
There are lot of people who are now stuck in background checks at I-140 stage which was very uncommon before.
I would advise you to follow up with you lawyer to get more details on your case. My lawyer actually spoke with the Immigration Officer at TSC.

Hey Renata,
It was struggle with my wife;thanks God she got the EAD more than a year ago. Therefore she is working now and a little happier. I am also OK in my current work. The problem is that I have missed more than 4 job offers that would allow further career growth and potential much better rewards.
Since my wife couldn't work, we had a baby back then.
Tell me, which country in Europe are you from ? I have a very good friend of mine who is Italian. By the way, if you are in the Seattle, WA area, feel free to come over and join us. We get together for good wine, lasagna, "churrasco", etc pretty much every weekend with our Italian friends. The way I see it, is that while we wait for this insane visa bulletin advancement, at least we should allow ourselves to drink a good wine and eat nicely :-)

He is much more in favor of Europe and since I have EU passport we can basically live anywhere and he would be able to work the next day :D I feel like I have put so much effort into this by now that I'm not walking away this close. As I understand "Pending Adjustment" is not a status so how can my daughter stay in US legally if I switch to EAD.

How did the attorney sign the form when you had not signed.
I had to visit my attorney's office and sign all the paperwork in his office before he filed my app.
I belileve if the attorney is remote, then he needs to send fedex package to sign the docs.
Attorney signs only as a rep if there is legal issues or court apperance is required.
Applicants signature is used to prepare the EAD card . USCIS scans the signature of applicant.
